At Studio Balayage Michigan, every service is designed to provide a personalized, low-maintenance result while prioritizing hair integrity, clear communication, and a calm, relaxing environment.
To ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all clients, please review the policies below.
⭐ Balayage Process + Realistic Expectations
Balayage is a gradual, multi-visit process.
Each service plan is customized based on your starting point, hair history, natural undertone, and desired result.
Please note:
• Extreme or unsafe lightening is not performed in a single session.
• Long-term hair health always comes first.
• Your final result may require more than one appointment depending on your goals and previous color.
• Your consultation will outline what is safely achievable and what the process will require.
⭐ Timing + Maintenance Expectations
Transformations and tonal refinement require time, patience, and multiple steps.
To protect your hair and ensure predictable results:
• Services cannot be rushed or condensed.
• If multiple sessions are needed, this will be discussed during consultation.
• Most balayage clients return every 3–6 months, with optional tonal refreshes in between.
• If your desired timeline or maintenance level does not align with what is safely achievable, alternative options will be offered.
⭐ Communication Standards + Service Alignment
Clear communication is essential for a successful experience.
During your consultation, we will review:
• inspiration photos
• undertones
• placement goals
• long-term plans
• realistic possibilities based on your hair
If expectations or communication feel misaligned at any point, I may recommend discontinuing future services so you can work with a stylist whose approach better suits your needs.
This ensures a positive, respectful experience for both client and stylist.
⭐ Appointment Expectations
To ensure the best service experience:
• Please arrive on time for your appointment.
• Appointments lasting over 3 hours may include brief processing periods.
• If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled or adjusted to fit within the scheduled time.
⭐ Cancellations + No-Shows
Life happens — I understand.
However, to respect the time set aside for each client:
• Please notify me at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.
• Same-day cancellations or no-shows may result in limited future booking availability.
⭐ Adjustment Policy
If something feels different from what you expected, please reach out within 4 days of your appointment.
Adjustments apply only to the original goal that was discussed and agreed upon during the consultation.
Adjustments do not apply to:
• new inspiration photos
• changes to the original goal
• results that require additional sessions based on hair history
• unrealistic expectations not safely achievable within one visit
All adjustments are made with hair integrity as the top priority.
⭐ Healthy Hair First
I reserve the right to decline any service request that may compromise the health, structure, or long-term integrity of the hair.
This includes unsafe lightening requests, chemical overload, or goals not aligned with your current hair condition.
⭐ Photo + Video Consent
Photos or videos may be taken for documentation or marketing purposes.
If you prefer your hair not be photographed for public use, simply let me know at your appointment — your preference will always be respected.
⭐ Right to Refuse Service
For the well-being of the salon environment, I may decline or discontinue services if:
• communication is unclear or misaligned
• expectations do not match what is achievable or healthy
• behavior is unsafe, disrespectful, or inappropriate
• the service requested does not align with my expertise or approach
